Bataan Governor Joet Garcia on Tuesday launched the Bataan Electric Public Utility Vehicles Program. The program aims to shift the province’s transport system to green mobility.
As part of this initiative, six electric vehicles (E-vehicles) were blessed and turned over to the Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).
Vice Governor Cris Garcia along with SP Bataan members, Bataan Mayors and other local officials joined Gov. Garcia in a simple blessing and launching ceremony. This program is also part of the Project TRANSFORM of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in the province of Bataan. Gov.
Garcia said these e-vehicles will be used for patrolling along the Roman Expressway to ensure orderliness. Three of these vehicles were funded by the Provincial Government of Bataan while the other three were donated by the private sector. The full charge of an E-vehicle costs PHP400 and can run up to 500 kilometers.
